For the first time in history Kawasaki Sweden is putting together a  Factory Kawasaki Racing team in the sport of PWC racing.

In November, when Sofie was given the chance to race with the new SXR1500 as a factory rider for Team Sweden it was an easy desicion. The opportunity was one of a lifetime and a dream came true for the young lady of Sweden.  Being supported by Kawasaki is really exciting and we are looking forward to this season” says Sofie, who is very enthusiastic and already training hard despite freezing temperatures.

After the release of the new SXR there were some doubts and critism on its size and its ability to manouver around a tight track. As a matter of fact Sofie decided to fly to Lake Havasu in USA to get the chance to test ride in february. After some laps on her back, she knew that the desicion was correct. She is getting more and more comfortable on her new setup after weeks of training here in Sweden. ”It turns really sharp and has plenty of power.” explains the athlete.

Sofie Borgström who will turn 18 this year won the Nordic Championship in 2016  in GP3 Ladies on her SXR800 and since she has been six years old been faithful to the Kawasaki brand.

The Kawasaki Racing Team of Sweden will attend and compete at all Swedish championship races and Nordic Championship Final in Finland.
